UPS, Uninterruptible Power Supply

A UPS is a device that allows you to continue to work normally in case of power failure. Also protect your equipment voltage rises or falls, frequency variation, harmonic distortion, electrical noise and fluctuations that can cause serious damage.

UPSs have a range determined by their available battery power consumption of connected equipment. A higher consumption UPS will require greater, equal greater consumption UPS will allow greater operational autonomy.

Types of UPS:

OffLine or Passive Standby.

Online or double conversion.
High-end UPS, targeting critical environments. Specially designed to protect sensitive equipment to electrical disturbances, medical environments, central servers and critical operating equipment and high availability.
The voltage equipment permanently uses UPS batteries whether or not power failure. The output current is regenerated always going from AC to DC and then back to the DC-AC (double conversion) obtaining an optimal pure tension fully stabilized.

Recommendations and examples:

- PC with monitor 15 "or 17"
To protect a PC a Back-UPS, if desired PowerChute software and PlugPlay then a Back-UPS Pro Both VA 420-500 power is enough to keep the PC running about 10 minutes without electricity. If you want longer or PC peripherals has recommended want to protect 650 VA model.

- Server NT/2000-Novell-Unix-Linux
We recommend the APC Smart-UPS model and allows to protect your server, monitor 15-17 ", Hub-Swith and Router. If the server is simple (single processor and hard drive) then you can also protect a PC monitor 15 -17 "simultaneously for 10-30 minutes. More time or more next to the PC server recommended the 1000 VA unit. For multiple servers or critical equipment is recommended Matrix model.

When you want to connect more than 4 devices to a Smart-UPS or Back-UPS Pro, or more than 2 to a Back-UPS requires a power strip connected to the UPS power with special connector.
All UPS small carry two cables PC / Monitor to UPS. To connect two devices to the two connectors from the UPS must purchase separate cables.
