IR and UV Viewing Scopes

Both Infrared (IR) and Ultraviolet (UV) handheld monocular devices employ a proprietary high resolution image converter and photocathode arrangement to produce a visible image from invisible radiation. Precision coated achromatic objectives and eyepiece give these quality instruments a wide variety of potential uses. Additionally, the 1/4-20 tripod mount in the base of the handle allows constant positioning and increased utility. All models are made of rugged polycarbonate and aluminum and have both momentary and constant on settings. Note: Images are green.

IR scope applications include optical fiber alignment, film development in photo labs, light emitting diode (LED) inspection, laser alignment, study of laser beam patterns, and surveillance/investigation.

UV scope applications include UV lithography, photorefractive keratotomy (PRK), excimer/UV laser analysis, fiberprint detection/analysis, and liquid crystal display (LCD) annealing.

This high performance infrared viewing unit is designed for viewing radiation in the 700-1300nm spectral region. By properly focusing the macro objective lens, objects from 3" to infinity can be brought into sharp focus. At the heart of the viewer is a high-resolution image converter, which converts near infrared radiation to a bright green light (550nm), that is easily seen through the eyepiece. A 1/4-20 tapped hole is located in the base of the handle for easy mounting to a tripod or laboratory bench. Common applications include observing the radiation emitted by IR sources (such as GaAs, IR LEDs, and Nd:YAG lasers), laser beam alignment/inspection, and photographic dark room use. Accessories include Mounted Lens Filter, C-Mount Video Coupler, and a Carrying/Storage Case.
