The Ministry of Education of Ecuador trusted in DARA solutions to automate the census evaluation of all examinations of students and teachers in the country. The project has been declared BE "Flagship Project" by the Ministry of Education and has been done quite successfully in 2008 and 2009.
"The Ten-Year Education Plan" approved by referendum on 26 November 2006, contains among others the sixth policy that refers to "Improving the quality and equity of education and implementation of a National System of Assessment and Accountability Social Accounts ". A component of this evaluation system, the creation of which is to monitor the quality of Ecuadorian educational system is the evaluation of student performance.
In this context, the Ministry of Education issued the Decision No. 195 on 30 May 2007, in order to "Formalize application performance testing of academic achievement in educational establishments of the country, prosecutors, fiscomicionales, municipal and Hispanic and bilingual individuals such census every three years since 2008. "
In order to begin implementation of the National Evaluation System through the assessment of student performance, we designed and developed new evidence in the basic areas of knowledge: Language and Communication, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies and Questionnaires Associated Factors as academic achievement, they were piloted on a representative sample, adjusted and validated for the preparation of final proof.
Tests of Language and Communication and Mathematics, along with associated factors questionnaires, census shall be applied to students in fourth, seventh, tenth and third Basic Education baccalaureate in educational institutions of the country, prosecutors, fiscomicionales, municipal and Hispanic and bilingual individuals not involved in this operation the nightspots nor special education.
